We Welcome You

Alliance Adventure Retreat was designed to capitalize on the relaxed, organic nature of the island.  While there is an itinerary for daily activities, the structure is not a primary element as in other programs - we take our cues from participants and their needs.  All adventure activities are designed to incorporate a degree of challenge, instill confidence, however, are created to ensure success for each individual participant.  Adventure activities engender camaraderie, trust, communication and respect. While activities are planned to achieve a common goal, we recognize that people get there at their own pace.

Stigma can be a common roadblock to open a dialogue about PTSD or OSI while still serving.  Every veteran we consulted in designing the program highlighted the elements lacking in their civilian medical care upon release.  We provide a safe, non-judgemental setting that is far outside the structure of their daily lives, or work environment at home and treatment they may receive there.  We provide peer counseling, in a group or one-on-one settings.  Recovery is a life long journey, with multiple stages and layers to reveal the trauma at the core.  Mentors are there every step of the way to encourage, listen, share their experiences when appropriate, support and celebrate their successes.

Our wellness adventure retreat is not an initial treatment stage; however, we are an integral part of the healing process.  The simplicity of life here allows for participants to focus on themselves, outside of the pressures of home.  The island experience fosters healing – life is simple, your daily needs are met, you relax and allow yourself to be open the recovery process.  Participants come here to be able to focus on themselves outside of the over stimulations, pressures, and expectations of daily life back home.

If you or someone you know could benefit from our program, please feel free to reach out. We welcome all inquiries and will respond promptly.

Our 14-day wellness retreat encompasses:

  • Yoga and meditation: Warriors At Ease yoga program specific to treat Military PTSD which enhances gentle yogic exercise and breathing which address multi symptoms veterans experience.

  • Adventure activities: Our adventure activities engender camaraderie, trust, communication, and respect amongst the team.

  • Community outreach: Providing a positive way for participants to give back, and gain a sense of a greater purpose.

  • Team building and sustainable organic living practices:  It is proven that working with your hands can be a powerful thing - it’s a good way to clear the mind and focus. Learning about local culture and being close to nature with onsite organic and sustainable gardens is part of the calming and grounding effect of the program.

  • Support animals: Our program also has available onsite emotional support animals for those who may require additional companionship while staying with us.
