We are a traditional Canadian family, who fell in love with the Philippines while backpacking Asia with our children in 2012. A life changing event was our families motivation to get back to the simplicity of life, and what really was important. So, after 25 years working for the Department of National Defense, Wayne and I decided this was the time to re-evaluate life, and make important changes. The course of our decision ultimately led to personal journeys for us all, and the final family decision to relocate across the world to Tablas Island, Romblon. Only after selling all our possessions in Canada, were we truly able to embrace the simple lifestyle, and benefits of island paradise living. The native style of the homes, the organic farming, the uncomplicated lifestyle, and the beautiful Philippine culture shaped our design ideas, that are now our completed mountain paradise, that we now call "home" in Tuguis, Looc.
"If we can share anything with people, it would be our love for the Philippines, the people, and its vibrant culture. Also, we LOVE LOVE LOVE our 4 dogs, our wild and free pet monkeys, our cats, birds, goats, pigs, ducks, and of course...our extended Filipino family. When you come to visit us, expect to meet them ALL"
Our story, its details, and how everything changed about our lives, inspired the filming of the TV program "House Hunters International, Living off the Grid," that was filmed on location in April 2015. It has now aired in Canada & USA September 2015
